Why we love Pippa Middleton's wonderful spring wedding flowers

Updated: Jun 12, 2018

Today has been the day bridal editors around the world have been waiting on. Pippa Middleton has today married James Matthews in a church service in Englefield, England.

While the bride looked beautiful in her lace, cap sleeved, high neck, Giles Deacon Gown, it was the flowers that Peony and Gold were desperate to see and we were not disappointed. Pippa carried a small white teardrop bouquet of Peony, Sweetpea, Astilbe, Freesia, Waxflower, Green Bell and Alchemilla Mollis created by Lavender Green of Chelsea.

The shape and size of the bouquet was reminiscent of her elder sister Kate's bouquet for her wedding to Prince William in 2011 with both brides opting for spring weddings and using flowers accordingly.

The Bridesmaids, including Princess Charlotte wore beautiful floral crowns which appear to be made of Wax Flower and Lily of the Valley buds and carried matching hearts down the aisle.

Here at Peony and Gold we love to see flower crowns and the bridesmaids looked particularly sweet with their hair loose and natural.

The church entrance was adorned with a floral arch of pale pink Roses, Peonies, Astilbe and Lily of the Valley.

We can't wait to see what the reception flowers are like!

We love Pippa's flower choices and predict a rise in requests for the smaller style of bouquet Pippa and Kate have carried so well.

Small teardrop bouquets are perfectly suited for slender brides and go delightfully with fitted bodices and sweeping skirts. The bouquets don't overpower the brides figure or take away attention from the dress.
