I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and are back in the swing of things now that the festivities are over. This year I have made the New Year’s resolution to write more blog posts!! I never remember and always wonder if anyone will even be interested, but I guess I won’t know until I try, so here goes!
What are your thoughts on New Years Resolutions? Have you made any? Have you ever stuck to ones you’ve made before?
The very fact that I have found the time to sit in front of my computer is a huge achievement after the chaos of Christmas. We had 6 AMAZING weddings over the festive period.
It all started with Carrise and Jonny who married at South Causey Inn on December 23rd. Carisse chose a gorgeous colour palette of deep reds with blush pinks which were perfect for a festive wedding and complemented the venue beautifully! The Protea added a stunning twist to the designs.
We had a couple of days to enjoy Christmas before we were straight back to it with Sarah and Matty’s wedding over at Healey Barn. The fireplace at this venue is a floral designers dream! Even if it did come with its own set of complications, it’s not as easy as it looks to create a design that is 220 cm long and 60 cm tall on a wonky 14 cm ledge!! But we think the final design was worth the effort. Sarah went for the gorgeous Amnesia rose as her accent colour and the Silver Brunia in her bouquet was a wonderful nod to the season without making the designs too festive.
We were straight back into the studio after this for Charlotte and Craigs wedding over at Ramside Hall on the 30th December. Another gorgeous Protea design.
Back to the studio for Alex and Ashley’s NYE wedding at St. George’s Church in Jesmond followed by The Secret Tower. We love this venue and bumped into our good friend Sara of Sara’s Kitchen who set up the couples gorgeous wedding cake. Alex chose a beautiful Amnesia and Avalanche Rose bouquet with pink and green hydrangea for the bridesmaids.
But we weren’t finished there! 2nd January saw us at Matfen Hall for Emma and Jonny’s wedding. We loved the pine cones in this winter white design of ranunculus and roses.
