Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19)

Updated: Mar 16

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Everyone is concerned about COVID-19 at this point and Peony and Gold are no exception. I can only imagine how stressful it must be for those of you getting married in the coming weeks and months after planning your day for so long. I will try to answer a few of the questions we have been asked but please understand that I don't know everything and that the information out there is constantly changing. What happens if there is a ban on mass gatherings?

There is no ban on mass gatherings in England at the moment. Scotland currently has restrictions on gatherings over 500 people. If there are restrictions introduced in England, you will need to speak to your venue about whether or not your wedding can still go ahead.

What happens if my venue cancels our wedding?

If your venue is unable to host your wedding on your current wedding date or if the government stops your venue holding your wedding,  then speak with your wedding insurance provider.

Peony and Gold will try our best to reschedule your wedding to an alternative date, but this will be subject to availability and will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

Once we are 7 days out from the wedding (at the latest) I will need to order flowers. Once the flowers are ordered they will need to be paid for and therefore we will no longer be able to refund or transfer the balance. I will discuss with you whether you are happy for me to go ahead before I order the flowers.

What happens if you cancel due to illness?

If you are infected with COVID-19 and need to cancel your wedding, then you will need to claim on your wedding insurance. Peony and Gold will try to reschedule to a different date, if possible, but this can’t be guaranteed.

What happens if Peony and Gold need to go into isolation?

If Peony and Gold have to isolate due to contracting COVID-19 we will offer a full refund and try our best to find you another florist. For this reason we will not be holding face-to-face consultations in the coming weeks as our upcoming weddings are our priority. As a small business it is important that we stay fit and healthy so we are able to work on your stunning flowers. Are Peony and Gold insured?

Yes. Peony and Gold have all the correct insurances however these will not cover for COVID-19. There are currently no business insurances available that offer cover for such pandemics.

If you need to cancel your wedding then you will have to be covered through your wedding insurance to reclaim monies lost. If Peony and Gold need to cancel due to COVID-19 we will refund you ourselves. However, upcoming weddings are our priority and therefore we will be avoiding face-to-face consultations for the time being.

Can we still have a consultation?

Of course, but this will be by telephone or FaceTime for the time being to protect ourselves and our upcoming weddings. We hope you understand that we are acting as responsibly as possible and that our upcoming weddings are our top priority. Thank you for your support

The next few months are going to be hard for everyone, especially small businesses, but we will try our very best to help you as much as we can. If you have any concerns, get in touch with us or your wedding insurance company.

Most importantly, stay healthy!
